Fun fact: It can not only tolerate salt but can actually thrive in it. It has special salt glands on its leaves that actively excrete excess salt, which is why you might see tiny salt crystals glittering on its surface on a sunny day. This plant is a true globetrotter. It's found in coastal regions throughout the tropical and subtropical world. You can find it on the shores of Florida, the Caribbean, parts of Africa, Australia, Asia, and even on many Pacific and Indian Ocean islands. It doesn't mind traveling, likely via its floating seeds. 🪴
